Well, I had hoped that Avoca would be an awesome new hot spot for coffee drinkers, chit-chatters, and studious individuals. However, it has yet to open. Also, the hours remain limited so those looking for an after-dinner hang out or a late-night study spot will need to look elsewhere. Lacking this local craving, I continued to hang at the University Starbucks, which has never failed in allowing me to indulge in both beverages and conversations with friends.
Last week, to my surprise, I learned of a new coffee shop that opened in the spot that was formerly The House Coffee Bar at 915 Florence Street in Fort Worth. The shop goes by the name of Buon Giorno Coffee. It originated in Grapevine and just opened the Fort Worth branch in mid-December. I stopped by this evening with a friend and was greeted with an array of Euro coffee options, treats, and friendly faces. My choice of beverage for the evening was a Tuscany Mocha which added orange flavoring to the mocha base. My drink came in a real mug with one of those delightful designs on top. I don’t know why a design on a fancy cup of coffee makes it seem better. By the way, my drink was less than the cost of a flavored latte at Starbucks AND the small cups at Buon Giorno boast two espresso shots rather than the one shot in a tall at Starbucks.
Personally, I just hope that people begin visiting this joint and help it to stay open and mirror the success of its Grapevine branch. There are a lot of other things I could say to tell you about its greatness, but instead I’ll direct you to their website and post a few pictures. Hope to see you there soon!
